UC Essay Prompts Remain Unchanged on the 2019 Application

Good News!  There will be no changes to the UC application personal insight questions this year.  So, while you cannot submit the application until November 1st or work on the application until it opens on August 1st, you can certainly start working on the essay prompts.  Need guidance?  Let’s strategize so you can stand out from the crowd!

The Common Application Essay Prompts Remain Unchanged for 2018-19

Good news!  The Common Application announced last week that the prompts for 2018-19 will remain the same as last year.  Juniors can begin pondering their main essay ideas and get a head start on the writing process.  Here is the email from the Common App Team:

NEW Common Application ESSAY PROMPTS for 2017-2018!

Breaking news, students!  The Common Application has made changes yet again to their essay prompt line up!  In addition to the five prompts from 2016-2017, they have added two more, for a total of seven.  The word count still remains at 650 for all.

New August SAT Test Date for 2017!

The College Board has just made a change to its test schedule for 2017, adding an August 26th test date.  This is big news and will be a welcome change for many students.  For the first time since the 70’s, students will have a summertime test option.  This test date will replace the January test date starting in 2018.  Take a look at the look at the test administration dates below.

News Flash!  The University of California has dramatically changed its application essay format and questions. Starting with the 2017 application cycle, both freshman and transfer applicants will write four 350 word (maximum) responses.
